been meaning to upload all the beautiful photos from my most recent Everglades adventure. after the "fly" incident i have shied away from the glades, specially my closest and favorite Shark Valley. after i saw the #optoutside REI invite the day after thanksgiving i was determined to go and do. well, little did i know nor expect that the BF who was supposed to be my partner in crime would wake up with the sniffles... determined as i was i went at it SOLO!
the journey began and the morning was quiet, just love those mornings, rare in busy Miami...
got my bike and began pedaling... quickly i began to see my good old gators sunbathing...
gorgeous views...took advantage of the solo mission and took a ton of photos... (which the BF hates, haha!)
saw a lot of bird action, even a small eagle with a snake flying away, but i was too slow with the camera...BOO!! here is the observation tower... half way point to the trail

was only able to do the short Bobcat trail, the others were closed due to the high water
and that's all, biked the 15 miles like i had not missed the year... so ready to go back!
had a wonderful time, had some closure and did some 're-centering" which i needed and felt completely refreshed afterward.
if you are in the area or plan to visit, make this a must on your agenda.
