Autumn Fae

Once upon a time there lived an old fairy in the woods. On a September 21st, year unknown she was making preparations to pay her respects to the impending dark and to give thanks to the waning sunlight, as she stored her harvest of that year's crops. She worked hard that day, preparing a wonderful feast for her family and friends, full of breads, nuts, apples, pomegranates, and vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and onions. She even took out the fines wine she had. Also decorated her lovely cottage with deep colors of red, orange, brown, and gold; even hanged pine cones, ivy vines, and horns of plenty. After much toll, she washed and wore her all of her finery. But, before any guest arrived she headed deep into the woods to make offering libations to trees, for this Autumn Equinox is a time to finish old business as we get ready for a period of rest, relaxation, and reflection.

The Autumn Fae

Here is the new collage piece at MsBittyKnacks Etsy shop, inspired by Wiccan Autumn celebrations. This 11 x 14 canvas panel was prepared with crepe paper shaped in autumn leaves and black gesso.

Evening, full moon, wind blowing, leaves everywhere, trees bared...

The old fae....

Now September is right around the corner, so begin making your preparations for September 21st & check out the Autumn fae at the shop:
