So, after I decided to take a break from good old MsBitty, I began to create mostly fibre art, ex. weavings, embroidery and macrame. These quickly began to evoke a nature, native, primitive style and that's when MacuNana was born. First off, MacuNana means: big eye girl in the native Taino language. Tainos are the native Indians from my island Puerto Rico and from there I began to let my passion for native Indian culture pour and the ideas to roll. That's why the brand's motto is:
"a hand crafted brand
inspired by earthy native elements
and energized by the southwestern beauty. The place to find handwoven wall art, embroidery and decor that evoke to live wild and free"
As can imagine, the brand grew quickly, specially with the boho love here in Miami
As with every project that's new, the energy was strong at the beginning but towards the second year I began to miss making whimsies and just began to lose interest. So, as my day job began to get busier, plus the home renovation started I decided to call it quits and just concentrate on making what I felt like making.
So, I will fully update the gallery of the last 2 years and those pieces that are still available will have price to be purchased.
But for now you can visit the shop and can check the Instagram and Facebook account and make any inquiries.
