Hello dear friends!
If you follow on IG then you already know, but if you don't, well....I was in New Orleans. Had a little road trip with the family and it was amazing!!! First time there, so did as much exploring as possible, so I divided all the sigthseeing for multiple posts so I can share plenty of photos with all of you.
This was on July 4th, celebrating Independence day at the Big Easy, French Quarter... here is Jackson Square
Of course had to stop at Cafe Du Monde and had my very first beignet and I must admit it was delish 😋 and meet all my expectations for sure.
and yes, fyi I broke the diet big time, thankfully had very minimal allergy reaction and only gained 1 pound, yay!!!
Visited the Cabildo museum
had the pleasure of visiting the inside; the art work and architecture was amazing.
Steamboat Natchez... the Mississippi
no more needs to be said.... you all know, what happens in Bourbon, stays in Bourbon 😝
Of course had to visit the Louis Armstrong Park
as you can see the weather was overcast, which for July worked out fine since it made the weather very tolerable and not as humid. Got a bit rained on but the same happens in south Fl all the time, so it worked out fine and allowed for much exploring.
the main reason wanting to visit the park was to see Congo Square, if you don't know the history read up 😉
OK and the big debate on all the YouTube videos I saw preparing for the trip was which beignet was better Cafe Du Monde or Cafe Beignet
I tried them both, and it is my humble opinion that Cafe Beignet was the winner. Both were good but the latter's were fluffier and I personally preferred them that way; and I must admit I will miss them. I did buy a mix to make them at home, will let you know how they turn out. Here is a photo from the Bourbon location where I got my last beignets 😭😭😭
These are but a few things from the French Quarter; we did plenty of museums, plantations and even a swamp tour.; so I'll share them in the next few posts.
