Hi friends! Today I want to share the "cosmetic" remake done to the hutch. If you're a long time follower you'll remember when I first worked on it. This is how it all began
you can find all the detail here
and then went to this
here is a close up of the back.
I totally outgrew this and decided to spruce it up. So began be removing the backing
removed the fabric and painted the board
Used Dixie Belle's Fluff
it's a beautiful vintage white, of course purchased it from TheSerialDIYer
Just love this paint!! If you haven't tried it, please do it has fantastic coverage, this is after two coats
Then I applied this absolutely gorgeous decal from Re-design Prima on the center called Lovely Ledger that I saw online and fell in love with it
as can be seen, bit small for the area, so I got a second one called Spring Meadow Life as a side filler
I cut it up and spread it to look cohesive.
and...
tadahhhh....
and some close ups
Now, the mid wooden rails on the hutch just had to go; they were taking too much space and collecting dust. I also wanted to remove the wine cup holder but just could not, after removing the screws, seems like the pieces were glued, so boo! Anyway, had to do fresh paint there and all those over exposed grays on the doors just had to go to. Did a coat of Dixie Belle's Caviar , a coat of Dixie Bell's Gator Hide (the best strong and easy to apply sealer).
I also changed the handles, got these from Hobby Lobby on sale half off
the other one I had from when I did my kitchen renovation, they are from IKEA
and here is the final result
A bit of prim, a bit of farmhouse and I absolutely love it!!! I have to clear the inside clutter, but still amazing. So what do you all think?? please share your thoughts.
