It's all about the meat...

Hi friends!
Today I wanted to share a mini book review on two books I read at the end of the year. If you follow me on Instagram, you all know I eat in a keto/ low carb style. I've been eating this way over 2 years, got into it because my husband was struggling with his diabetes type II. After a few months he was able to get off all his med and it truly has been a success. For me it was about allergies and  I have found a great relieve but not 100% I still have sporadic breakouts and rashes that I can't pinpoint the origin cause. In the many health podcasts I listen to, the carnivore way of eating talks has been increasing, so as I always do, I began to do research into it. So I began with one of the biggest figure in the sphere (in my opinion); Dr. Shawn Baker and his book

Great easy read, gives you the general basics, bit of history, politics, testimonials, and debunks the typical health concerns. Loved his no stress approach, which makes it easy to get started. I then followed it up with Maria and Craig Emmerich's book

Lots of good info, it did get a bit too sciencey at parts, but the info part is short since the biggest chunk of the book is composed of recipes.
In the end if you are truly interested on this way of eating I recommend Dr. Baker's book. From there he provides great references for more info on the meat community, you can start with Meat RX.
I took the January carnivore challenge and did it for 2 weeks and felt fabulous. Had a keto hiccup and am back at it, let's see how long it lasts, my  biggest struggle is my sweet tooth.  Even thou I make healthified treats, still want to be able to suspend them to fully determine what's causing my allergies. Also, for those worried that this way of eating is unhealthy, trust when I say it's all rubbish,  read the books and do your own research.  Anyway, I will keep you posted on my progress.
