reno update...

hello friends!
here is a short reno update, why you ask? well, the bathroom vanity I made and shared here
I had to re-paint and finish because thanks to the waterlox sealer I used it got super yellowed; imagine my disappointment. So that was a wasted weekend. After that I stripped and repainted my country bench, I bought it at offer up at the beginning of the year and the previous owner had spray painted it a gloss black. I am not a fan of anything gloss, so I just painted it a matte and will share photos once I can since at the moment I have a tin of stuff in top, haha!
Here is what I worked on last weekend. I got this beautiful french door for free. I've had it outside for quite a few months "weathering" it that it got a bit to damaged, luckily I was able to trim the rot and that spot seen goes to the back

I cut even the sides slightly,  left a bit extra to the bottom and had my fun with the rotator sander. Now since it's a very heavy piece I had to search how to hang it from the wall and the easiest way was to do what is called a french cleat

Just placed a wood piece on the door, cut on a 45 degree and the other part secured on the wall with drywall screws. I put wood pieces on top and bottom for leveling purposes. I still have to clean it and seal it, so once it's up I'll show some photos.
This weekend I worked on my new coffee table, I got this last Friday on offer up for $30

It is huge, wood, super solid and has beautiful detail, which can be seen below.

finished painting it today, used Dixie Belle's Caviar
and it's gorgeous!! still have to seal it, but you will see what I mean.
on the other side of the house the hubby is finishing up the shower, not an easy task, I've had to help with doing the water seal and the concrete base and finishing that up the drain pipe got stuck and had to break a part ☹ so will deal with that again next week.
So, until next Reno update.
