hello friends!
as can imagine the weekends continue going like a blur with all the work at the house. The past few weeks I've been mostly painting furniture, a bit slow going since in south Florida it's super hot the whole week and on the weekends it decides to rain, sorry, rant over, lol. So, between moving the furniture in and out of the house between coats and slow painting, making sure no spots fall on the floor, you can imagine, s-l-o-w. Anyway, here is my bed's foot board, sorry forgot to take before photos so this is a scene shot of the video I did while sanding
here is the finished piece
white with heavy distress, just love the way it came out!!
now, I found these fabulous nightstands at offer up for $60
good quality, solid tables, crappy paint job with a lot of drips and missed spots but workable and I could feel the "chalked" paint feel so I thought just distress a bit and done, yeah right. When I started sanding chunks of paint began to fall off and not only white, it had white, cream, gloss black, and yellow.
So, I sanded as much as I could, after about 4 coats of paint (no distressing) and was able to sort of even it out and here are the finished beauties.
I painted the handles a matte black, now they sure pop!!
After finally finishing those I began with the bathroom vanity, only did a quick first coat, but the difference is amazing. Here is the almost pre photo...
again forgot the official before, but here is post stripping, sanded, spot primed and now
the paint is a blue/gray I'll get the right name on the next post. I left the top undone because I have the marking where the sinks will go and still have to cut. Plus I'm most probably going to do a gray wash on the top, should look great.
Well, this is all for now, let me know your thoughts or if there is any idea, more than welcomed of course.
