museums part 2

Hello everyone!
Today, is part 2 of the museums visits and these two were my ultimate favorites from the whole trip.
This first one is the Confederate Memorial Hall Museum, sorry for the far off photo, but I was excited, lol. This place was full of memorabilia, what totally fascinated me was not only that it houses one of the largest Confederate collection in the US but that it is the oldest museum of New Orleans, built in 1891 and actual soldiers of the era reunited here, I just loved that fact.

here are a few of the displays, but the building itself was absolutely beautifully. If you go watch the short movie, it gives so much insight to the collections.

love the stained glass

this is the view towards the front of the building

Now, right next to this gem is the WWII National Museum.
I could have spent a days on this museum, there was so much to see and the personal stories were just heart touching. I personally got very emotional in many parts, since I've been reading for the past few months of this period of our history

here are but a handful of photos, starting with an idea of where the US was in "manpower" in comparison to the enemies

the propaganda for the war effort

USA mobilizes for the war effort, just like we did last year to beat this dammed covid 🤐

to give you an idea how big it is, actual vehicles and planes are in display

These next 2 photos are from the temporarily Trench Art exhibit

through out the exhibit you see the importance of this flag and how the soldiers took pride to bring it home and now one sees people burning it or kneeling when the national anthem is sang and it truly is sad.

True words of wisdom by General MacArthur 👏
This museum brought about so much emotion and that's not including the 4D movie and more construction is on it's way. A great way to honor the GREATEST generation, specially the brave men and woman that served during this war, in my humble opinion. This museum is a must for anyone visiting New Orleans and if you have attended it do share your memories.
Next post will be about the plantations I visited, so until next one.
